Jet Bot Robot Vacuum with Intelligent Power Control
The Jet Bot uses LiDAR (light detection and ranging) to create accurate room maps and navigate the bot even when it is dark. You can control mapping using the SmartThings app. To choose where the Jet Bot should or should not clean, you just have to select certain areas of your home using Select & Go. Note that the Jet Bot may give up on certain areas, which is a defect.
As the Jet Bot makes its trek, it identifies the surface type and amount of dust to automatically adjust suction. There is normal and max suction. What we like about the suction is that it does not suck in unwanted things, such as cords. Furthermore, it is quiet.
The Jet Bot cleans hard floors and carpets. Also, it has a high-efficiency brush roll with fine and anti-static fibers as well as self-cleaning extractors to grind up hairs and prevent entanglement. We just wish the Jet Bot tackled corners better…
As for the dustbin, it is washable, removable, and emptiable by simply tipping it.
Needless to say, there are anti-collision and anti-falling functionalities, and the bot redocks to recharge when needed to then resume.
More about the SmartThings app
You can check the status of the Jet Bot in real time as well as:
- See where the Jet Bot has cleaned.
- Instruct the Jet Bot to stop.
- View its history.
You can set no-go zones if you like. It is just that the app is not that intuitive, and you may struggle to find features that should have been in plain sight (if available at all)…
You can also issue voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Also featured this time around is Bixby, which is probably our first instance of coming across a bot that is Bixby-compatible, although that should not be surprising if you own a Samsung phone!
Conclusion
We are generally fond of the Jet Bot and are awaiting more of Samsung’s future innovations in robotics!
- Efficient cleaning
- Smart suction
- Quiet
- Bixby compatibility
- May give up
- Corner struggles
- App not intuitive
