Lefant M1 Robot Vacuum and Mop

The Lefant M1 comes with LiDAR technology as well as LDS navigation. The M1 can scan a room and save its map. Thanks to multi-floor mapping, up to three maps can be saved, but you need to exercise patience when managing these maps as the user experience could have been better.

More tech details

There is also an AI algorithm in order to plan an entire home’s cleaning with more precision. The M1 can take care of about 150-200 square meters before redocking to recharge due to low battery. After that, it resumes from where it left off.

FreeMove 3.0 tech allows the M1 to detect its environment omnidirectionally to avoid obstacle collision. There is anti-falling awareness as well.

How it cleans

The M1 collects dirt in front of itself and sweeps it into the dustbin. The double-sided brush design as well as a floating roller brush cover comprised of silicone for the suction’s opening are there to ensure the protection of your floors.

The M1 has a brushless motor, which is quieter than average. Being 20% smaller than most LDS robot cleaners, the M1 can go into tight spaces.

About the mopping

The M1’s mopping includes three water levels:

  • Low
  • Medium
  • High

The M1 allows mopping and vacuuming at the same time. However, the M1’s mop is probably best reserved for lightly dirty floors that you would like shined, not for stubborn stains. What adds insult to injury is that the mop piece may cause the M1 to struggle when transitioning between rooms with doorway dividers.

Smart control

With the feature-heavy app, you can view the M1 doing its thing in real time. Another feature the app has is no-go zones and virtual walls in case there are sensitive areas in your home. This is nice when it actually works. Furthermore, you can point the M1 to clean wherever you want cleaned. Moreover:

  • You can schedule a cleaning prior.
  • You can change the cleaning mode.
  • You can adjust the suction power level.
  • You can adjust the water volume.

Of course, if you prefer voice control, you can use Amazon Alexa or Google Home. For example, you can say, “Alexa, turn on M1.”

Cleaning modes

What are the cleaning modes, you ask? You have scheduled, zoned, spot, and manual remote control cleaning. Spot cleaning, which you can trigger from the bot itself, is for the intensified cleaning of a certain area. There is a zigzag cleaning mode as well.

Conclusion

The Lefant M1, although not without its flaws, is a clear culmination of Lefant’s years of industry experience.

  • Great mapping
  • Good suction
  • Zigzag path
  • Thin design
  • Useful app
  • Threshold crossing
  • Mopping performance
  • Sometimes clunky app
