eufy Clean G40 Hybrid+

eufy rarely makes self-emptying robot vacuums, but this may become a trend. Not only is this a self-emptying robot vacuum, it is also a robot vacuum-mop. It can keep up to two months of debris before involvement is needed from you. You may be excited to know that the dust bag is auto-locking.

About self-emptying

The self-empty station has a triple-filtration system to reduce dust exposure, with a deodorization rate of 96.2% within a day’s timeframe. For those who are savvy, the allergy care capability of the G40 Hybrid+ is certified by TUV Rheinland.

As expected, the self-empty process is quite loud, almost like a plane taking off, but this is customary for such robots. However, eufy could have excelled in this aspect, but it did not.

How it works

The G40 Hybrid+ uses roller brushes and suction to pick up the likes of food particles and dust. It uses logic to in an attempt to designate the most efficient route to clean more of your residence. First, vacuuming takes place, and then the wiping takes place.

Agile functionality

Because the bot itself is only 2.85″ thick, furniture can be went under if needed to clean there, but it may get stuck. Anyway, all of that happens at a reasonable volume, and you can watch TV while the bot operates. It has an anti-collision sensor to avoid bumping into objects.

Auto-boosting

Thanks to BoostIQ, the G40 Hybrid+ automatically boosts its suction when a carpet is found. Otherwise, the suction modes at your disposal are:

  • Quiet
  • Standard
  • Turbo
  • Max

Quiet mode gives you the longest runtime of 100 minutes.

Regarding mopping

You have three levels to choose from when adjusting the electronic water tank. Optimally, you would find a balance that would not make your floors soaking wet after a mopping session. Take heed, however, that even eufy themselves said that this mop is not for stubborn stains.

Smart control

You can control the G40 Hybrid+ with your phone if you want. Voice control is also possible through Alexa and Assistant.

In any case, the G40 Hybrid+ will try to recharge on its own when it needs to, and it then continues cleaning if the battery dies midway a cleaning. However, the station needs a large open area, and the G40 Hybrid+ may struggle to find it. Furthermore, in big spaces, it might act confused and spin in circles.

When it comes to the app, the cleaning history shows the cleaning area and time. The G40 Hybrid+ cleans in a zigzag pattern, and after cleaning is done, the bot will clean edges and corners by following your residence’s edges. That said, the app seems quite limited this time around.

Conclusion

eufy rarely makes self-emptying robot vacuums, but this time, it has bestowed a hybrid one upon us, and the result is good, hinting to a possibly bright future of similar products as eufy hones its craft.

  • Zigzag movements
  • Light mopping
  • Loud self-emptying
