DEEBOT 661
This hybrid robot vacuum-mop utilizes random navigation and three different modes for its missions:
- Auto mode: the default mode
- Spot mode: to clean a specific area
- Edge mode: to clean near walls and corners
This is not a simultaneous vacuum and mop. It is one or the other depending on what you install on it. For example, replace the dustbin with the water tank to make it a mop instead of a vacuum and vice versa.
If some areas are particularly troublesome, suction power can increase twofold. There is a max mode.
As for the other basic features, the 661 features anti-collision and anti-drop sensors. Why? Those would be to avoid collision with obstacles as well as dropping from heights, causing damage. In any case, the 661 packs durable protective bumpers.
Furthermore, you can expect software updates to happen automatically.
Back to the hardware, the finish is anti-scratch, the dustbin is large and easy to empty, and there are large wheels on the bot to climb thresholds and so on.
Whenever it needs to charge, the 661 does that by itself.
Do we recommend the 661?
Yes, we recommend this DEEBOT.
Let us start off the with the app. We appreciate how it shows real-time data as well as detailed logs of cleanings that happened.
Second of all, the different modes are quite useful, especially the fact that suction can be increased to tackle those tougher areas that normal modes cannot usually handle.
As for the mop, it is as good as a hybrid can get, but you still need a specialized mop for stubborn stains.
Yes, there are downsides to this bot vac.
We simply do not like how its memory is not the best. For example, it may retackle areas that were already done as well as neglect areas that have yet to be touched.
Furthermore, although it is advertised to be able to climb over thresholds, it does not do that all the time. Now, you would think that setting virtual barriers would be the solution to block off thresholds, but that feature is not even present in the 661.
Conclusion
The 661 packs most features that you need in a robot vacuum, with a few downsides you can mitigate.
- Versatile suction
- Convenient app
- Memory could be better
- Bad with thresholds
