Thamtu G11 Max Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

The Thamtu G11 Max is a robot vacuum with a dual side-brush system. Its suction is supposed to pick up the likes of dust, pet hair, and more. That is whether we are talking about carpets or floors, such as hardwood.

There is also triple layer high-efficiency filtration in addition to anti-collision and anti-falling sensors. There may be bumping at first, but the G11 Max should get used to your home over time.

Different modes

The different cleaning modes of the G11 Max include:

  • Cleaning in straight lines
  • Cleaning in a spiral shape
  • Cleaning edges and corners
  • Cleaning as part of a schedule

Here are the possible suction levels:

Suction ModeSuction Power
Eco600 Pa
Standard1,200 Pa
Max2,500 Pa

Suction automatically boosts on carpets. Note that the dustbin of the G11 Max is small and needs frequent emptying. It may continue to vacuum even if its dustbin is full, so you have to stay vigilant. Furthermore, while the G11 Max is good at vacuuming hair and whatnot, its brush may get tangled, so you would need to clean it.

As for the volume, it is supposed to be between a running refrigerator and a conversation between people.

Maneuvering style

The G11 Max moves in zigzags. Its body is thin enough for it to go under furniture to clean there if needed too. Once a cleaning session is finished or the battery is low, the G11 Max will attempt to redock and recharge in preparation for the next mission.

Unfortunately, the G11 Max’s redocking is inconsistent. Even if it finds the dock, it may lose battery on the way there. That is when you should carry it to the dock yourself. Thankfully, it is light.

On the bright side, the threshold crossing of the G11 Max is impressive. In other words, it may successfully climb a thicker rug from a floor, even if it is taller than the advertised 0.7″ threshold surpassing capability.

Smart control

You can control the G11 Max through the four main ways many robot vacuums are controlled:

  1. Thamtu app
  2. Remote control
  3. Google Assistant
  4. Amazon Alexa

Setting up the app is easy and quick. The auto button on the remote control is quite convenient to trigger a cleaning for a little more than an hour. There is another button for spot cleaning, which is the intensified cleaning of a certain area. More buttons include start/pause, redocking, minimum suction, and max suction. Though, the directional arrows for manual steering do not seem to work.

To Alexa, for example, you can say, “Alexa, turn on the G11 Max.” Otherwise, you can activate the G11 Max by pressing on the power button onboard the robot itself. The other button is for redocking.

The G11 Max gives you voice notifications. The robot can tell you if it is stuck or needs a charge. Strangely, It may get stuck in places where it should not, such as near a table leg. Additionally, it may continue running instead of shutting off.

Final disclaimer

If your unit stops functioning after a while, Thamtu might offer to replace your unit.

Conclusion

The vacuuming of the G11 Max is good. It is just that it works best in decluttered spaces, and it requires that you frequently check its dustbin plus whether or not is has successfully redocked. Therefore, the robot vacuum may best be described as average.

  • Great vacuuming
  • Edge cleaning
  • Spot cleaning
  • Goes under furniture
  • Crosses thresholds
  • Lightweight hardware
  • Learns your floorplan
  • Smaller dustbin
  • Brush gets tangled
  • Robot gets stuck
  • Inconsistent redocking
