iSweep X5

Snap! It is the iSweep X5 by Hotsnap, and it is here to vacuum and mop your dirty floors.

The way that the X5 works is by mapping its surroundings and then planning a zigzag path in order to clean an entire level of your home while avoiding missing spots. It is good for cleaning the likes of pet hair and food bits on surfaces like carpets. Because its body is quite slim, the X5 can go under furniture to clean there too. Furthermore, 0.6″ thresholds can be surpassed.

Suction power levels

  1. Low: for dust
  2. Normal: for hair and shells
  3. Powerful: for debris as large as beans

Because there is no roller brush, you do not have to worry about tangling.

Mop it up!

As for the mop, there is an electronically controlled water pump. The frequency of vibration is rather high at a whopping 500-5,000 times per minute.

Smart robot action

If you like, you can connect this iSweep to an app in which you can:

  • Set the cleaning time.
  • Find your robot.
  • Perform a three-gear suction adjustment.
  • Set the language in the app.
  • Control the cleaning mode.

And more!

Recharging and anti-falling functionalities are supported, the latter of which is enabled by two infrared sensors at the bottom. We just wish the speaking functionality did not involve a thick Chinese accent…

Here is the two-step strategy we recommend to get the most out of your Hotsnap iSweep X5:

  1. Deploy it if you need pet hair and dust taken care of that is not under short furniture.
  2. Empty the dustbin after the cleaning cycle!

The iSweep X5 is a decent robot vacuum-mop combo that you can optimize with minor adjustments.

  • Decent overall
  • Threshold transitioning
  • Height clearance
  • Heavy accent
