lubluelu Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

lubluelu’s SL61 innovation comes with LDS 9.0 LiDAR mapping technology coupled with SLAM, the latter of which is a type of navigation that identifies the layout of your home fast, building up to five maps. The SL61’s LiDAR radius extends up to eight meters.

More about its mapping

You can save up to five maps with the multi-map tech of the SL61. When setting a cleaning schedule, you can customize cleaning per floor, and you do not have to have the mapping process repeated every time you deploy the SL61 on a different floor. When scheduling, you can choose to have your living room cleaned at 10 AM and your bedroom cleaned at 2 PM, for example.

You can divide up the rooms into categories such as the living room, bedroom, and kitchen. 10 no-go zones can set to prevent the SL61 from going to certain places. If your SL61 struggles with certain places, just block them off with a no-go zone, and take care of cleaning those places manually. If the bot randomly gets lost, move it a little bit so it can reorient itself.

The technology of the SL61 is supposed to have LDS that is thrice the average. The eight-meter laser range is supposed to adapt to a variety of complicated home layouts, achieving more effective planning of routes.

Spatial awareness

The whopping 22 sensors of the SL61 make it avoid obstacle collisions, and collisions may happen when the SL61 first maps your place, but over time, it should simply hug obstacles and move on. It also avoids falling off heights. The off-road wheels of the SL61 are supposed to help it cross 0.7″ thresholds.

When the battery is 15% or less, the SL61 redocks to recharge and then resume from where it left off. Just make sure to put the SL61’s dock in a stable place or else it may shift around as the SL61 is trying to redock.

How it vacuums

The SL61 packs a brushless motor, which is known for less noise and no tangling. There are three suction modes that are complemented by dual side brushes in addition to a roller brush that is combined with rubber brushes. This way, the SL61 can pick up pet hair, dirt, and dust deeply embedded in carpets as well as on floors (including tile & laminate) in zigzag pattern movements.

Carpet encounters cause the SL61 to automatically boost its suction. High efficiency filtration is featured too. The cleaning modes at your disposal are:

  • Automatic cleaning: by default
  • Edge cleaning: for edges, ledges, walls, and corners
  • Zone cleaning: to clean a specific zone
  • Spot cleaning: the intensified cleaning of a certain area
  • Double cleaning: as the name states
  • Scheduled cleaning: a prescheduled cleaning session

In reality, the SL61 may struggle to activate on schedule, so you might have to trigger it manually regardless.

How it mops

Through the precision micro-control water pump, you get to choose from low, medium, or high water flow levels. The SL61 employs Y-shaped mopping to simulate manual mopping by a real human.

We just wish it was possible to add a cleaning solution into the SL61 for a better mopping job. However, the SL61’s mop should be able to take care of basic spills as well as shine your floors, picking up more dirt than just vacuuming.

Smart control

If you can go through the potential ordeal of setting up wifi on this bot, you can use the smart life app, which is OTA (over the air) updateable, in order to do things like:

  • Set cleaning schedules.
  • Set no-go zones.
  • Monitor the cleaning path.
  • Change the cleaning mode.
  • Adjust the suction level.
  • Adjust the water level.

You can use voice control too through Alexa or Assistant. The SL61 also gives you voice notifications about its status, well, if you can understand its accent…

Conclusion

The SL61 is a decent robot vacuum with good mapping, and its mopping feature is okay for minor spills.

  • Good mapping
  • Good around corners
  • Water-only mop
  • Can get lost
  • App setbacks
  • Accented voice notifications
