ILIFE V8s Robotic Vacuum and Mop Cleaner
The V8s is a robot vacuum-mop hybrid. It has a BLDC motor to make the bot tangle-free and easy to maintain. It has six cleaning modes as well as three levels of water dropping for its mopping aspect. Needless to say, the V8s cannot be used to mop a carpet.
Smart features
This bot can pick up hair, dirt, and dust quite easily. Furthermore, its water tank and mop cloth work in unison to achieve their goal.
The path taken by the V8s is optimized through a smart system to cover as much real estate as possible in the shortest amount of time. That is supplemented by the mechanical keys and LCD display that this bot packs. You can see easily understandable icons to know what is going on. As for the keys, you can find them on the remote or the bot itself.
You can schedule cleanings prior. You do not have to worry about the V8s going to work when you are out and about as it adjusts its suction power on its own depending on what it encounters during its mission. Generally, there is a low suction setting and high suction setting. The V8s also climbs over thresholds just fine. Finally, it senses obstacles and heights to avoid colliding with or falling from.
Interesting tidbits
- There is a high-efficiency filter, filter cotton, and nylon mesh.
- The gradeability or slope angle of the bot is 15 degrees.
- This bot can climb thresholds 15 mm or shorter.
- This bot employs gyroscope navigation.
Do we recommend the V8s?
This is a good hybrid, but we wish it vacuumed and mopped simultaneously instead of doing one after the other. You see, you have to replace the dustbin with the water tank for mopping functionality to take place.
Furthermore, you are left with the remote and bot itself to operate the V8s, so no app or voice commands. Thankfully, the V8s docks itself when needing a recharge, but you can manually charge it too.
Another nice thing is the modes you can choose between with the handy remote, which include:
- Spot cleaning is for cleaning specific areas.
- Edge cleaning is for those tough-to-reach edges.
- Max cleaning is for increased suction.
You can drive the bot with the remote too. Regardless, the V8s docks itself just fine.
The vacuuming feature, which is perhaps the most important, works great on the intended surfaces, but it does struggle with larger debris, so make sure nothing out of the ordinary is on the floor before deployment. Additionally, the filter is not washable, so you would eventually have to replace it.
As for mopping, it is good but not the focal point. Still, it is better than most other hybrids, but if you really need automated mopping, we would recommend a specialized robot mop instead.
Conclusion
The V8s is a solid robot vacuum-mop hybrid with minor flaws that can easily be overlooked.
- Decent suction
- Climbs thresholds well
- Does not get lost
- Useful remote
- Not for large debris
- Not a simultaneous hybrid
- Mopping so-so
- Filter not washable
