Tesvor S5 Max Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Tesvor S5 Max is a robot vacuum-mop hybrid with a roller brush. It is here to remove the likes of pet hair from your home. That is whether you have hardwood floors or carpets etc.

Electric water tank

The electric water tank has three possible water output speeds you can select from the app so you can determine the wetness of the mop pad. The mopping is best reserved for shining one’s floors instead of scrubbing off hard stains.

Full-sized dustbin

This zigzag-moving robot vacuum has four vacuuming modes. When a carpet is encountered, suction is automatically boosted.

Look at the runtimes per suction mode:

Suction ModeRuntime
Quiet260 minutes
Normal163 minutes
Strong136 minutes
Max99 minutes

In reality, the suction may best be utilized for picking up pet hair instead of larger debris.

LiDAR navigation

In addition to LDS, the S5 Max has LiDAR, so it maps your home to plan an intelligent route. Its laser extends up to eight meters, and up to five maps can be built. This process is supposed to be 50% more precise and efficient than gyroscopic navigation. There are also anti-collision and 21 anti-falling sensors. 18 mm thresholds can be crossed.

The mapping starts out okay, but over time, the map may rewrite over itself, clearing your no-go zones and whatnot. Furthermore, this confuses the S5 Max in its path, and it can get stuck in random places. It may also make grinding noises while operating after it has aged.

Battery details

The battery life should last more than 3,250 square feet of cleaning. When a cleaning mission is finished or the battery is lower than 20%, the S5 Max attempts to redock, recharge, and then resume from where it left off. In actuality, however, the redocking is inconsistent.

App & voice control

The Tesvor Home app is supposed to allow you to:

  • Set a cleaning schedule.
  • Select a cleaning mode.
  • Adjust the suction.
  • Change the water level.
  • Set a no-go zone.

The no-go zones go up to 10, and a virtual wall is also possible to designate. On the app, you can see your home divided into rooms, and each room can be assigned suction & water levels. A possible schedule you can set is:

TimeRoom
10:00 AMDining room
11:00 AMKitchen
12:00 PMOffice
1:00 PMLiving room
2:00 PMBedroom

There have been reports of the app not working or at least not working well. In that case, consider the WeBack app instead. You can use Alexa and Assistant for voice control too. By the way, the S5 Max features UV sterilization as well.

Conclusion

The Tesvor S5 Max is the type of investment that will likely only last you a few months. Overall, Tesvor’s quality control with this model leaves much to be desired. The S5 Max ages drastically within months to the point of not being viable no more.

  • Pet hair suction
  • Threshold crossing
  • Suction not versatile
  • Minimal mopping
  • Can get stuck
  • Inconsistent redocking
  • App issues
  • Ages quickly
  • Subpar quality control
