iHome AutoVac Luna Pro 3-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Vibrating Mop with Auto Empty Base

The iHome AutoVac Luna Pro is a self-emptying robot vacuum-mop that can hold dirt, debris, hair, and more for weeks while you live a stress-free life. Basically, after cleaning, the AutoVac Luna Pro goes back to its base automatically after a cleaning to empty its dustbin’s contents into the bag-lined bin and recharge.

Admittedly, your unit might not operate for two hours as advertised and instead work for about 45 minutes before reaching about 15% of battery left. Also, the accuracy rate of redocking is probably 80%.

Dual-action wet & dry

The Luna allows you to choose your desired level of water flow, letting the electronically-controlled tank handle the rest. There does not seem to be simultaneous vacuuming and mopping, though. In addition, the mopping here is water-only and not to be used with a cleaning solution.

PowerMop scrub

The PowerMop scrub can be a described as innovative scrubbing tech that uses vibration while wiping off stains. Exactly, a whopping 2,500 vibrations take place per minute!

Suction & filtration

Hyper Drive automatically kicks in when the Luna detects a carpet, and suction is increased that way. By the way, there is HEPA filtration as well.

HomeMap 2.0

This front laser technology scans your floor to allow for custom cleaning. So, you can set virtual boundaries to prevent the Luna Pro from going there (be sure to do that so it does not mop your carpets).

You can also designate specific areas in rooms that you would like cleaned. The Luna likes to clean row by row. Its mapping improves per cleaning cycle, but if it gets stuck under furniture, you would need to pull it out. If that constantly reoccurs, just set a virtual boundary! Worst case: you can place obstacles to block off those areas.

Connection for convenience

You can connect your Luna to wifi for app and voice control whenever you please. The iHome Clean App is here to save the day, and so is Google Assistant for voice control as well as Amazon Alexa.

The app can admittedly be more user friendly, but luckily, this is something that can be patched by the developer team without you having to shell out extra bucks.

As for the remote, with it you can:

  • Start a cleaning.
  • Pause a cleaning.
  • Adjust the suction level.
  • Trigger an intensified spot cleaning.
  • Activate the PowerScrub.
  • Mute the audio.
  • Drive the Luna.
  • Redock the Luna.

Conclusion

It may be worth checking out the Luna Pro in your hunt for your next self-emptying vacuum-mop.

  • Increasingly improving mapping
  • Useful app
  • Shorter runtime
  • Redocking difficulties sometimes
  • Can get stuck
  • Water-mopping only
  • Mopping doesn’t avoid carpets by default
  • Clunky app
