Honiture Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Honiture Q6 Pro has got it all: vacuuming, mopping, self emptying, and LiDAR navigation. The dustbin and water tank can coexist without having to take out one to place the other. However, you probably have to take out the water tank or else the Q6 Pro may mop your carpets. Other viable surfaces for the Q6 Pro to clean include hardwood and tiles.

Self emptying

After a certain amount of time, you need to replace the dust bag in the self-emptying base, which is easy. You will probably only need to do this every month, two months, or three months. The average time should be 30-45 days. Do not worry as the base lets you know when it is ready for your involvement.

Adjustable suction

There are three suction power levels at your disposal. Standard suction mode should last a couple of hours of vacuuming. Carpets cause the Q6 Pro to boost its suction automatically, picking up the likes of dust. The Q6 Pro can suction a floor at 2,000 Pascals and then up that to 2,800 Pascals on a carpet.

If needed, activate spot cleaning for the intensified cleaning of a certain area. The Q6 Pro is good at corner/edge cleaning too. It tries to stay 1 cm away from walls. Do not be concerned about the Q6 Pro only having one side brush as it still does the job.

Adjustable mopping

The Q6 Pro’s mopping is better than average, so it can do more than just shine your floors. You can adjust the moisture of the mop. Furthermore, you can add non-foaming detergent. Just make sure your check on the water reserve from time to time as you may have to refill it during a mopping session for the Q6 Pro to continue mopping efficiently.

This is an example of how you can instruct the Q6 Pro to adjust suction and mopping per room:

Spatial awareness

The Q6 Pro can store up to five maps of your home. The robot moves in a zigzag shape when vacuuming and a Y-shape when mopping. It has sensors to avoid hitting obstacles, which it does not always do. In fact, it may also get stuck, such as when crossing thresholds.

The Q6 Pro’s laser detection extends to eight meters. It redocks to recharge when the battery is low. If you need to block off a certain area so the Q6 Pro does not vacuum it, make use of the two-meter boundary strip, but do not expect the Q6 Pro to respect it all the time.

In addition to SLAM, the Q6 Pro has LDS in order to:

  • Know where to go
  • Know how to go there
  • Avoid repeating an area
  • Avoid missing an area (but not always)

There is also an anti-falling functionality for heights.

App & voice control

The Honysmart app can be displayed in Chinese in addition to English. Besides the aforementioned features, you can use it to adjust suction from quiet to max and so on. The app can also show you:

  • Total area cleaned
  • Total time elapsed
  • Battery life left

You can use the app to redock the Q6 Pro as well. The robot itself has power and redocking buttons. The glass panel on top of the robot is scratch resistant, and the dock has an LCD display.

Besides the app, you can use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to start or stop the Q6 Pro. You can schedule cleanings as well.

Disclaimers

While the following has not necessarily been our experience, there have been reports of:

  • The base not charging anymore after a couple of months of use
  • The main brush tearing apart in a couple of weeks
  • The brush scraping floors
  • The Q6 Pro shutting off randomly after a few months of use

A new battery might fix the shutdown issue. Otherwise, do not hesitate to reach out to Honiture if needed.

Conclusion

To best use the Honiture Q6 Pro, declutter your living space from obstacles and high thresholds. Also, remember to remove the water tank if you do not need mopping.
