Geek Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner L8 with Mop
The Geek Smart L8 is a robot vacuum-mop hybrid. It has a main brush and two side brushes. Its twin turbines are supposed to produce 5,400 Pa suction power in total. There is also supposed to be 80% more airflow to vacuum dust, dirt, and debris more effectively. The mopping can take place in a Y-shape, but it is best reserved for shining your floors instead of scrubbing stubborn spills.
LiDAR navigation
The L8 has SLAM and LDS. As for the LiDAR, it allows the L8 to:
- Generate a real-time map of your multi-floor home.
- Calculate the most efficient path.
- Adjust the path in real time.
- Evade obstacles.
Movement details
The L8 moves in zigzags. It has sensors and is good at obstacle evasion. It redocks to recharge on its own and then resume from where it left off. It also redocks when the dustbin is full. The redocking consistency is not perfect, though.
Anyway, the G6 should be able to run for 5 hours in silent mode. However, the LiDAR knob on top of the L8 can prevent it from going under furniture.
Actual performance
The L8 can be described as a pet hair specialist. It raises or lowers its cleaning head depending on the surface. The roller brush combs through carpets for more efficient vacuuming. Tiles, laminate, and stone are viable for the L8 to clean as well. You can adjust the suction power and water output.
The cleaning modes include:
- Zigzag
- Spot
- Edge
- Random
In case you did not know, spot cleaning is for the intensified cleaning of a certain area.
Smart control
The L8 can give you voice notifications about its status. Otherwise, with the Tuya app, you should be able to:
- Customize a cleaning schedule.
- Schedule a cleaning session.
- Select which rooms are to be cleaned.
- Block off certain areas with a magnetic strip.
- View a real-time map.
It would have been nice to pick whether to schedule vacuuming or mopping specifically. Also, be sure to block off carpets manually when mopping if your L8 does not avoid mopping them without your instruction.
There is an optional remote for features like:
