ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI

The DEEBOT X2 OMNI is a sequel to the X1 OMNI. Perhaps the most noticeable difference is that this robot vacuum has a bit of a D-shape, which is good for shimmying alongside walls in general, but in the case of the X2 OMNI, its shape may get it stuck during turns.

Otherwise, this is a self-emptying robot vacuum that can hold up to three months of dust. It also mops, and its water tank is refilled to mop up to 4,300 square feet or 400 square meters. After each use, hot air dries the mops to prevent nasty odors.

Cleaning modes

The four cleaning modes are vacuum only, mop only, vacuum & mop, and vacuum first before mopping. There is a washable filter.

Vacuum profile

With astronomically high suction, the X2 OMNI has a 200 mm main brush that is made of rubber to reduce hair tangling. Hair, dust, and crumbs can be picked up from both hard floors of carpets. If you have pets at home, the X2 OMNI may be for you.

Mop profile

When a carpet is detected during mopping, the mops of the X2 OMNI rise by 15 mm so your carpets are not mopped. Raising the mops higher would have been more desired to avoid wetting carpets at all costs. Suction, however, is boosted on carpets.

Other than that, the OZMO Turbo 2.0 Rotating Mopping System is meant to mop floors like a human would. Two mops are used, and the performance here is above average.

Spatial awareness

Through AIVI 3D 2.0 Obstacle Avoidance that is AI-controlled, the X2 OMNI strives to dodge as many obstacles as possible, including walking people. Additionally, the bot can navigate around in the dark.

You see, the X2 OMNI has LiDAR, and its LiDAR is allegedly the first dual-laser type in the industry. Objects up to 10 meters away can be detected. In addition, detailed 3D maps are generated. Despite having LiDAR, the X2 OMNI can still glide under furniture if need be.

Smart implementations

The YIKO 2.0 voice assistant of the X2 OMNI spares you from the need of using the likes of Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Siri if they are not your cup of tea. For example, you can schedule cleaning through YIKO.

To add, you can monitor your home by way of the camera on the X2 OMNI, and you can even have two-way calls with whomever is at home.

Of course, there is an app too, and the AI housekeeper analyzes & recommends the best cleaning methods. There is also what is called the 3D Map 2.0 that allows you to drag the X2 OMNI wherever you need cleaning.
